Reunited with Diego Godín

The Barça number 17 explained how the contest will be a special one for him as he will come up against his former Atlético Madrid team mate Diego Godín: “We played against each other in the World Cup and I grew as a player a lot alongside him and it is always nice to see someone like him. “Nevertheless, Griezmann added that he knows a few ‘tricks’ when playing against his Uruguayan former team mate before revealing the extent of their friendship: “Godín is a great friend, an example for me and we have a family relationship because he is godfather to my daughter.”

Inter Milan

“Antonio Conte is a great coach, who works really hard with his team and gets great results. It will be difficult and we will have plays as well as we can to get all three points.”

Settling into the team

“I feel comfortable but it only normal I still have to improve. I have come from a different philosophy, a different position on the field and I have to learn new things and change my movement. However, I am on the right track to being the best Griezmann possible. I know what my team mates expect of me and also the fans.”

Support from the fans

“It has surprised me that the fans have sung my name so many time so quickly. Let’s hope that I can return all that affection that they have shown me.”

Dembélé

“He trains well, he arrives early to training to do strength work. But when you get into a run of injuries it is difficult to escape. He has my support, but also that of the coach, team mates and we are here to help him. When he is fit again, he will come back well and he will help us.”
