The FC Barcelona squad for Dortmund

Ernesto Valverde has announced a 22 man list for their Champions League debut for the season in Germany on Tuesday

European football is back with the Champions League returning this week. Barça face their first game of the 2019/20 campaign at the Signal Iduna Park Stadium in Dortmund, their first fixture in Group F. Coach Ernesto Valverde named a 22 man squad on Monday after training for the game that kicks off against Borussia Dortmund, kick off 9.00pm CEST. 

The list is as follows: Ter Stegen, N. Semedo, Piqué, I. Rakitic, Sergio, Todibo, Arthur, Suárez, Messi, Neto, Lenglet, M. Wague, Griezmann, Jordi Alba, Aleñá, S. Roberto, F. De Jong, Vidal, Junior, Iñaki Peña, C. Pérez and Ansu Fati. O. Dembélé and Umtiti miss out due to injury. 

Fitness all clears for Messi and Neto 

On Monday the team trained for the final time ahead of the game against Borussia Dortmund. The session saw all the available first team players at the Ciutat Esportiva where both Messi and Neto also trained with the rest of the squad with Dembélé completing part of the session with his team mates. Also present were Iñaki Peña and Carles Pérez from Barça B and Ansu Fati from the U19 squad. Once the session was complete, both Messi and Neto were given the all clear by medical staff and were included in the squad for the trip to Germany.
