THW Kiel 32-34 Barça: Super Globe champions!

The blaugranes are world champions for the third consecutive time, and the fifth in total

Barça have been proclaimed Super Globe champions after beating THW Kiel (32-34). The new venue for the tournament, the Damman Sports Hall, witnessed Xavi Pascual's side win its fifth world title (2013/14, 2014/15, 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20), and their third in succession. The Barça players wore a black armband in memory of Luis Enrique's daughter Xana.

Though the match began fairly equally Barça were soon behind, but by half-time they'd reduced the deficit to just two points (17-15).

In the second half, Pérez de Vargas' excellence between the posts served to galvanise the Blaugrana who overtook the Germans on the scoreboard (23-24). By the end of the game, Barça had extended the lead (32-34), ensuring another title.
