Goal bearing the Barça DNA at Old Trafford

All 11 players were involved in the 194 second move to score the winning goal

The Barça philosophy was on show at the Theatre of Dreams on Wednesday in the only goal of the game. All 11 of Ernesto Valverde’s team touched the ball in the lead up to the match winning effort which gives the blaugranes the advantage in the tie.

It is not the first goal this season in the Champions League to bear the Barça DNA. The final goal in the 4-0 win against PSV Eindhoven, and the third against Spurs in the 4-1 win at Wembley were other great examples of the blaugrana way of playing the game.

The whole team involved

In Manchester the move began with Piqué at the back and ended with Luis Suárez’s header being turned past his own goalkeeper by United defender Luke Shaw. In between Stegen, Rakitic, Busquets, Arthur, Jordi Alba, Coutinho, Messi, Semedo and Lenglet were all involved in a move that saw Chris Smalling touch the ball briefly for United.

All in all, a team effort that gives Barça an advantage in their quarter final tie against their Premier League opponents.
