The benefits of sports in academic performance

The FCBEscola Singapore held an educational conference with the school’s parents to explain how to improve their children’s education through sport

Last Thursday, the FCBEscola Singapore and the parents of the school’s children held a meeting to discuss the benefits of sports in academic performance. The extraordinary day dealt with issues surrounding the social, psychological, cognitive, and health benefits of actively participating in sports, and how those benefits aid in the overall development of children.

"It is very important that families know what we are giving their children at school. Our goal is for them to improve in all aspects of life, not only with regard to football, but also as people," said Angel Toledano, the Local Project Director of the FCBEscola Singapore.

The parents were very receptive and praised the initiative. "The FCBEscola Singapore has helped my son to interact more with his classmates at school. Now, he’s more open and is able to build relationships with his friends more easily," explained one of the parents.

"Thanks to the values that are transmitted from the FCBEscola, my son makes a greater effort and is more committed to his homework," said another. "I am very grateful for this initiative. It’s been very interesting to hear all the scientific evidence about how playing sport can improve my child's learning."
