370 children between the ages of three and eleven begin the new football season

The 2016/17 school year began at the FCBEscola on Monday 19 September, with 370 children between the ages of three and eleven playing their favourite sport.

FCBEscola technical director Edgar Enrich noted that the main changes to the current season are based on the incorporation of a Pre-initiation team for kids between three and five years of age “as a way of adapting and getting into the sport”.

The rest of the age groups will be known as: Initiation (born in 2009 and 2010), Formative (2007 and 2008) and Pre-competition (2005 and 2006).

The 400 kids will be spread across 34 teams: two in Pre-initiation, eight Initiation, 12 Formative and 12 Pre-competition, who will be guided by nearly 70 professionals.

For another year, the sessions will be divided into two turns; Monday and Wednesday, as well as Tuesday and Thursday. Fridays are designated for the FCBEscola of Perfection. This activity is aimed at young people born between 2003 and 2011, designed for both school students and for children to play in other teams outside the FCBEscola who want to "soak in our methodology and way of being," said Enrich.

Dates to note

Among the main events of the FCBEscola season, apart from competitions every weekend, is Christmas, which is celebrated on Saturday before the holidays, plus two days outstanding at the beginning and end of the second trimester. The season will end on June 17th where there will be an end of season party where the youngsters will have a sports day, receiving awards and their diplomas as members of the school.

FCBEscola Basketball launches

Monday also saw the start of the FCBEscola Basketball season, who began training at the Arístides Maillol Municial Sporting Centre under the wise guidance of former player Nacho Solozábal, who will perform as a sporting consultant, as well as Roberto Dueñas.
