The grounds at Cap Cana (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic) will be the venue from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 December of the first edition of the FCBEscola Las Américas International Tournament featuring 28 teams from Barça’s soccer schools around the world, including three from the school in Barcelona.
The inaugural edition brings together almost 350 boys and girls from school in the Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo), Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), Japan (Fukuoka and Katsushika), USA (Charlotte and different camps), Puerto Rico, Ecuador and Barcelona.
The youngest age group involves nine teams of players born in 2007 and 2008, while the largest category, with thirteen teams, is that for players born in 2005 and 2006. The Pre-Competition level (2003 and 2004) has six teams. FCBEscola Barcelona has one team in the youngest age group and two more in the middle one.
The teams will play group matches on the Friday and Saturday, while Sunday is reserved for the finals. Matches will be played over 25 minutes, while the finals will be 20 minutes each way.
