China will have a third FCBEscola in Chengdu

The FCBEscola in Chengdu will join those already in place in Qingdao and Haikou

The Board of Directors at FC Barcelona agreed on Monday to create a new FCBEscola in China, in the city of Chengdu, capital of the region of Sichuan. The Club continues its strategic drive to extend its position internationally with its 27th school around the world and the third in China following the opening of schools in Qingdou and Haikou.

The Chinese region of Sichuan has a population of more than 80 million and in recent years has made a huge effort in the area of sport with regards to the training of sportsmen and coaches.

The FCBEscola in Chengdu will open its doors next term, in similar fashion to the school in Haikou which was official opened by president Josep Maria Bartomeu and FC Barcelona ambassador Ronaldinho following the signing of the agreement with the Mission Hills Group. This collaboration will see the construction of a sizeable FCBEscola and Barça experience space on the capital of the Chinese island of Hainan. The school in Haikou will be the first managed solely by the Club and it will have seven training pitches and room for more than a thousand students.
