FCBEscola player Eric García, European Under-17 Champion

The Catalan player played for the FCBEscola for two seasons before joining the Club with the U10 B side

FCBEscola continues to take small steps forward every day. In the 2016/17 season, Alex Carbonell  is the third FCBEscola player to have made his debut for the first team. This weekend, we had another first: FCBEscola Barcelona’s Eric García has won a title with his national team. He is European Under-17 Champion along with five other FC Barcelona academy players.

The player, who was born in January 2001, played for FCBEscola Barcelona for two seasons as an Under-8 and then went on to be a part of the Club’s U-10B academy side. His coaches from the time believe Eric García is an example for the rest because of his serious attitude and personality.

García is currently playing for the U-16A team and his teammates and him have made history by winning this European competition. In fact, the team coached by Santi Denia haven’t lost a game with victories in the group stages against Turkey (3-2), Italy (3-1) and a draw against Croatia (1-1). In the knockout stages, they defeated France 3-1 in the quarter finals, before beating both Germany and England following penalty shootouts in the semi-final and final respectively.
