FC Barcelona to acknowledge Deco, Sylvinho and Keita’s contribution to the Club

The Camp Nou faithful will get the chance to show their affection for the three ex-FC Barcelona players Between them there are 8 La Liga titles and 5 Champions League crowns

The players Deco, Sylvinho and Keita will watch this Sunday’s match between FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid from the presidential box at the Camp Nou. All three players left the Club without getting a chance to say goodbye to the Camp Nou faithful.

President Sandro Rosell will host the three ex-Barça players at the stadium, where they’ll receive a tribute from the Club and the fans for their time spent at Barça. Minutes before the match, the Camp Nou’s PA system will announce the presence of the three players so that the fans can publicly acknowledge and thank them for their time spent in the Blaugrana strip.

Three players with a fantastic honours list

The time all three footballers spent playing for FC Barcelona and the silverware they won for the team left an indelible mark in the Club (between them there are 8 La Liga winners medals, and 5 Champions League crowns). Deco, who played for the Club from 2004 through 2008, won two Ligas, two Spanish Super Cups and one Champions League title; he scored 27 goals for the team. Sylvinho (2004-2009) has a very similar honours list: he won one Liga, one Cup and one Champions League more than the Portuguese midfielder.

The most recent player to leave the Blaugrana is Seydou Keita (2008-2012), who left this summer for the Chinese league. Under Pep Guardiola, the Mali international, who is spending the final weeks of 2012 training at Barça’s facilities, won a total of 14 titles.

Participation in the Marató match

On Sunday, before the match against Atlético Madrid, Deco and Sylvinho will participate in the TV3 Marató charity match at the Miniestadi. The two ex-FC Barcelona players will share the pitch with other footballers, actors and personalities of the sports world.
