First team on holiday until January 2

The Barça players will have ten days to be with their families for the festive season, and will be back at work on January 2 as they prepare for the derby with Espanyol

Following a job well done with away victory at Valladolid, the FC Barcelona players are off on holiday. They have no further games until the weekend of January 5 and 5, and so from this Sunday they will be able to get some well earned rest until January 2, the day of the first training session of 2013. The squad are due back for an evening session staring at 18.00 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, apart from those that have been called up for duty with the Catalan national team, namely Valdés, Montoya, Piqué, Puyol, Bartra, Jordi Alba, Busquets, Xavi, Tello and Sergi Roberto, who be training at 11.00, also at the Ciutat Esportiva. Both sessions will be behind closed doors.

Derby to start

The ten-day break will end as the team start making preparations for the first game of the year, none other than the local derby with Espanyol (Sunday January 6 at 19.00). The first four kick off times of 2013 have all been announced already.
