The 14 FC Barcelona players named to their respective national team squads will feature in international friendlies this Wednesday. Alexis Sánchez, who was named to Chile's national team, will make the shortest trip, seeing that his national team is set to play in Madrid. On the other hand, Spain, with nine Blaugrana named to the team, will travel the farthest. La Roja will play against Uruguay in Qatar.
Alexis’ Chile and Spain slated to play first
Chile will take to the pitch first, as the South Americans will take on Egypt at 18.00 at the Vicente Calderón.
One hour later Spain will take to the pitch against Uruguay. Xavi Hernández was ruled out due to injury but Valdés, Piqué, Alba, Busquets, Iniesta, Cesc, Pedro and Villa will all don the Spain strip. The team led by Vicente del Bosque will play against Uruguay at 19.00, in Doha. Carles Puyol could play his 100th match for the Spanish national team.
Demanding fixtures for Argentina and Brazil
Argentina and Brazil will play their respective friendlies an hour an a half later, at 20.30. Argentina, with Messi and Mascherano, will play away to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Sweden in Solna. Brazil, with Alves and Adriano, will take on England in Wembley stadium.
