The Youth A team will be proclaimed champions of their league - Divisió d’Honor Group 3 – if they beat Cornella at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper at noon this Sunday (Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.cat). With five games still to play, the three points would confirm Vinyals’ team as champions.
Barça’s 16 point advantage over second place Espanyol would be enough to hand them the title even if they drew or lost, so long as their city rivals were unable to better their result when they play at Mataro.
Optimism amongst the players
Despite the defeats to Chelsea in the NextGen Series and away to Espanyol in the league last week, the Barça youngsters are upbeat about their chances of taking the title this weekend after a hard week’s training and they are determined to claim the title that escaped them last season.
Vinyals without three players
The team will be without Sandro, who has undergone a cartilage operation, and the injured Bagnack, as well as Maxi Rolón, who sits out his second game due to suspension. However, Vinyals should be able to put out a strong team capable of beating tenth place Cornella.
