Dongou, Deulofeu and Joan Román: young, but very ready for the challenge
Young and talented, these two words perfectly sum up Barça B's current roster. FC Barcelona's reserve side has found the back of the net more times than any other team in Segunda A. The Blaugrana have scored 64 goals from 29 matches this season, 12 more than Almería, who have the second highest goal tally of the league.
23 of the 64 goals have been scored by three of the youngest players on the team: Dongou, Deulofeu and Joan Román.
The youngest player on the list is the 17-year-old Cameroonian Jean Marie Dongou, who has netted three times this season (against Almería, Sporting Gijón and Córdoba).
Deulofeu, a natural in front of goal
Gerard Deulofeu is currently the second highest scorer in Segunda A, with 18 goals. In addition, the Catalan is the third youngest player to score in the league, only Dongou and Fede Vico (Córdoba), both of whom are younger than Deulofeu, have scored.
Joan Román, lightning down the wing
Joan Román arrived to Barça B from Manchester City this summer and he’s been crucial in Eusebio Sacristán’s tactical plans. The Catalan, who will turn 20 on May 18, has scored twice this season. His first was against Sporting and his second was against Jerez. Román is behind Jairo Samperio (Racing) as the fifth youngest goalscorer of the league.
