José Edmílson was the guest of honour in the Camp Nou’s presidential box during the game between FC Barcelona and Betis this evening. The ex-Barça player, who featured for the team from 2004 through 2008, received a tribute of gratitude from the Club for his service to the team. President Sandro Rosell awarded a framed picture of the triumphant Barça side that won the Champions League in 2006 in Paris to the Brazilian.
The ex-defender, who was visibly touched by the gift, spoke to Barça TV after the match: “this gift is very touching, I spent four years here and I experienced both good and bad times. But I’m very pleased that I got to play for Barça. Football and titles are forgotten but friends and people stay in your life. I’m very pleased with the tribute.”
