Barça don’t play until Sunday night, but would already become champions if Real Madrid don’t win away to Espanyol
The Liga 2012/13 title could be decided this Saturday night. FC Barcelona will collect their fourth title in five years if Real Madrid can’t get three points out of their trip to Cornellà-El Prat (22.00). An Espanyol win would earn their local rivals the right to start celebrating their 22nd domestic championship.
If Madrid do win, Barça will have another chance the day after. Three points from their Sunday night game with Atlético Madrid would be enough to clinch the title with three games to spare.
Champions on May 11?
This could be the third the time that Barça have won the league without actually playing a match, and the second time they have been confirmed champions on May 11, the same date that a 1-1 draw away to Levante was enough to secure top spot two years ago.
