Mixed fortunes for Rafinha, Deulofeu and Bojan

Rafinha has won a first team place at Celta, but the team has had a dismal start to the season Deulofeu is gradually getting more opportunities in a strong Everton side Bojan was injured in late September and has missed the last two Ajax games

The three FC Barcelona players that are out on loan, Rafinha, Deulofeu and Bojan, are having contrasting experiences at Celta, Everton and Ajax respectively. Here, we have a look at how their different seasons are going.

Rafinha (Celta): Essential for Luis Enrique. He has started all five games since the last international break and in only one of those was he substituted, and that was late in the game. But despite consolidating his role in the first team, he can’t be happy with the way his team is performing. Celta have not won any of their last five games, with just one draw (against Villarreal) and four defeats (against Athletic Bilbao, Getafe, Elche and Atlético Madrid). The Galicians are 16th, but only goal difference separates them from Osasuna and Rayo, who are in the relegation zone.

Deulofeu (Everton): The winger is gaining the favour of Robert Martínez. He has appeared in five of his team’s last six Premier League matches. He barely featured in the impressive win over Chelsea, only came on for the last 17 minutes against Newcastle and got half an hour against Man City. But he did play the full League Cup match, in which Everton went out to Fulham. The ‘toffees’ are seventh in a very tight Premier League, just four points behind leaders Arsenal and Liverpool.

Bojan (Ajax): An injury early in the match with Go Ahead Eagles has meant Bojan being sidelined for the games against AC Milan and Utrecht. Before that, he got half an hour against Zwolle and played the full ninety of the defeats to FC Barcelona (4-0) and PSV. Ajax are third in the league, but just one point adrift of leaders Twente. Bojan should be back in action in early November.
