The basketball team have two games coming up in the space of just 48 hours. Tonight’s is the first away match of the Euroleague campaign, and it’s one of the hardest fixtures in the group, away to Fenerbahçe in front of a sold-out Ülker Sports Arena (19.00: Esport 3 and Canal + Deportes). From this season, the Turks are being managed by one of the continent’s most successful coaches, Zeljko Obradovic, who has a 6-3 winning record against FC Barcelona. But Barça go into the game on the back of four straight wins since losing the Spanish Supercup final to Real Madrid.
The handball team are playing their last fixture before the international break (12.15: ETB and Esport3), and its away to Artaleku, the club from Irun in the Basque Country that are back in the Liga Asobal for the first time since 2007. Barça currently top the table, while their hosts are struggling to adapt to the higher level, and are down in 16th.
The roller hockey team are also on the road, at Blanes in the OK Liga (21.00), where they will be looking to make it three wins out of three since the competition started, after already beating Voltregà and CP Tordera. It’s been a lively week for Blanes, with manager Miquel Umbert being sacked and replaced by fitness coach Ricard Hernàez.
And in futsal, Friday (21.00) brings a classic of the Spanish game as FCB Alusport take on ElPozo Murcia, thee side they already beat 6-5 on aggregate in the Spanish Supercup. These are two very familiar rivals indeed. Last season they crossed paths no fewer than nine times, and Barcelona came out very much on top with seven wins.
