Alexis leads Chile fightback against Egypt

Alexis led Chile to a 3-2 win over with three assists after the Egyptians had taken an early two goal lead. Alexis admitted after the game: "if we play like that in Brazil, we're going to suffer".

Barça striker Alexis Sánchez played a big part in Chile’s win over Egypt on Friday night in the first of the South American team’s warm up games for the Brazil World Cup.

Despite conceding two early goals, Chile hit back, with Sanchez setting up all three of his team’s goals, putting Marcelo Diaz through on 25 minutes, than releasing Eduardo Vargas for the equaliser on the hour mark, before repeating the trick to give Vargas the chance to score the winner on 78 minutes.

Alexis had a few chances himself – most notably a fierce drive before the break that the Egyptian keeper did well to keep out, but the Barça man made it clear after the game that Chile aren’t yet at the level they need to be, declaring  “if we play like that in the World Cup , we’lre going to suffer”. Chile’s next game is on Wednesday against Northern Ireland  - their last warm up match before they go to Brazil, where they are in Group B with Spain , Holland and Australia.
