Cordoba reach the Primera Division

Chapi Ferrer's team win promotion to the top tier with a goal in time added on The Andalusian team are back in the Primera after 42 years

Cordoba CF, managed by ex Barça player Albert ‘Chapi’ Ferrer, are back in the Primera Division. The Andalusian team join Deportivo de Corunya and’Eibar in the top division, and in 2014/15 they'll come back to the Camp Nou, in the League, after 42 years. Since 1971/72 Cordoba have not played in the top tier of Spanish football.

Last time, in the Spanish Cup

The last time that Barça played Cordoba was in the last 16 of the Spanish Cup in the 2012/13 season. Barça won 5-0 at the Camp Nou and also won the return leg, 2-0, at the Nuevo Arcángel stadium.

Barça have won 16 of the 20 matches against Cordoba and, at the Camp Nou, the Andalusian team have not scored a single goal in the 10 matches played.

As for La Liga, the last match between the two sides ended in a 1-0 win for Cordoba in 1972, a defeat that severley damaged Barça's title aspirations.
