Alves and Neymar Jr's Brazil and Messi and Mascherano's Argentina travelled to Fortaleza and Brasilia, respectively, ahead of their quarter-final matches
It’s a day of travel for the FC Barcelona players who are still in the World Cup. On one hand, Dani Alves and Neymar Jr travelled from Teresópolis to Fortaleza, the city that will host the Brazil-Colombia match. The winner of that quarter-final showdown will play the winner of the France and Germany match in the semi-finals.
Brazil landed in Fortaleza with the knowledge that their star player, Neymar Jr, is totally recovered from injury.
The Argentinian national team are also on the road this Thursday. Mascherano and Messi trained with their team-mates at Cidade do Galo in the morning, and that afternoon they travelled to Brasilia, the host city for the Argentina v Belgium quarter-final. The winner will go on to face the winner of the Netherlands v Costa Rica match.
