Preseason starts on Monday

On Monday, ten first team players and a dozen from Barça B will undergo various medical and physical tests

The football first team are returning to work on Monday, 14th of July, on a day dedicated to different medical and physical tests.

22 players have been called up for Monday, 10 from the first team and 12 from Barça B. They are: Ter Stegen, Masip, Montoya, Bartra, Adriano, Sergi Roberto, Rafinha, Deulofeu, Afellay and Cristian Tello, from the first team, and Patric, Bagnack, Diagne, Grimaldo, Samper, Halilovic, Munir, Sandro, Dani Nieto, Joan Roman, Dongou and Adama, from Barça B

This will be the first day back under the new first team coach, Luis Enrique.  It’s also the first day for Ter Stegen, Masip, Rafinha and Deulofeu, players who weren’t with the first team squad last season. As regards Barça B, the situation is the same for Diagne, Halilovic, Munir and Adama

Three days with a double session

On Monday, at 9 a.m. the 22 players will undergo the usual preseason medical tests at the Ciutat Esportiva. Starting on Tuesday, and up until Friday, the squad will train twice a day, except on Thursday, when they will not train in the afternoon. The training sessions will be at 9.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. at the Ciutat Esportiva.

On Saturday there will be no training. Barça 2014/15 will play their first match of the preseason on that day. This will be played at 10 p.m. at the Nuevo Colombino Stadium, against Recreativo from Huelva, an dit is the 50th anniversary of the Colombino Trophy.

International players, from 24th July

It’s worth recalling that the players who have been playing at the World Cup will return to training from 24th July onwards. The Spanish players (Piqué, Alba, Sergio, Xavi, Iniesta and Pedro), Cameroon player (Song) and Croat (Rakitic) will return on Thursday 24th, whilst the Chilean, Claudio Bravo, knocked out in the last 16, will join them on Monday 28th. On that the first team will begin preseason camp of six days in England, based at the facilities in St. George's Park

From then onwards, Barça will play several friendlies. At present, apart from the Colombino Trophy, 4 matches have been scheduled. On 2nd Augustin Niçe they’ll play OGC Nice from the top French league; four days later, on 6th august, Barça will go to Geneva to play against Napoles from Italy; then, on the 9th they’ll play another friendly against HJK Hèlsinki in the Finnish capital, and then will close out the preseason with the Joan Gamper Trophy, on 18th August at the Camp Nou against Club León from Mexico
