President Josep Maria Bartomeu has joined the FC Barcelona expedition that has been based at St George’s Park, Birmingham since last Monday. He arrived around 4.00 PM GMT and was greeted by the media.
Bartomeu told them that “we have been receiving good news from St Georges Park. The delegation are having a fantastic week, with some top quality training … Luis Enrique and Zubizarreta have told us that this is an ideal, fantastic place for the work they have been doing this week”.
He also admitted that the club is still looking at the transfer market. “There are still things to so this summer” he said. “Both Zubizarreta and Luis Enrique have already told you. We’ll be discussing things while we are here.”
From England to France
Bartomeu will watch the squad train this afternoon. It will be the final session before Luis Enrique and his side leave the UK for Nice, where they’ll play their second preseason friendly. The president will be joining them on the trip to France.
