Bravo makes debut and Rafinha as the 'false 9'

Claudio Bravo makes debut

Ter Stegen played his first 90 minutes in the Barça goal in Nice, and in Geneva Claudio Bravo got his chance. The Chilean played from start to finish against Napoli, but as he already made clear in his press conference, he didn’t expect tonight’s game to be decisive in the difficult choice to pick the regular goalkeeper for the season.

Rakitic, Iniesta and Sergio in midfield

The game in Geneva also gave us the chance to see how Rakitic, Iniesta and Sergio Busquets work together in midfield. The former were lively in attack, while Sergio was always in position to help get the ball moving in their direction. At times he even dropped back to assist Bartra and Piqué at the back, which also meant full backs Jordi Alba and Montoya could open up more.

Rafinha, false 9

Luis Enrique also opted to try Rafinha in the ‘false 9’ position for the second game in a row, after already playing him there against OGC Nice.

Munir gets first start

Munir was used in the stating eleven by Luis Enrique for the first time, where he joined Pedro and Rafinha in attack. He played most of the game, before being replaced late on by Sandro.
