FC Barcelona v Bada BM Huesca: Another record (42-29)

FC Barcelona have gone a record 38 games undefeated in the league Víctor Tomás (10) and Jallouz (6) led the scoring

The Barça handball team has set a club record by going 38 games unbeaten in the Liga Asobal, with latest victim being Bada BM Huesca this evening. The Aragonese outfit was well beaten, 43-29, with ten of the goals scored by Victor Tomás, without question the most impressive player on the court.

With Karabatic out with a stomach bug, Jallouz started out in attack, and despite a slow start (6-6 after 10 mins), Barça soon started edging into a meaningful lead (12-7 after 16 mins).

The momentum was with Barça all the way, but although they managed to stretch their lead to eight goals, a late charge from Huesca meant the half ended 21-16. Statistically there was still hope for the visitors, but the evidence on the court suggested otherwise. Barça were in a different class.

By the 41st minute, there was clearly no way back for Huesca, now trailing 31-22, and Xavi Pascual started rotating bench, although the in-form Tomàs was left to continue his tremendous display. No matter how many times Huesca got the ball past Gonzalo in the Barça goal, the home side responded with something better at the other end. It was a dazzling, and indeed record-breaking display from a side that is clearly aiming for big things this season.
