FC Barcelona B fall 2-0 in the Canary Islands

They trailed the entire match, with the second goal coming just after the break Sandro Ramírez made his debut after spending the early season with the first team

Barça B were unable to keep their three game unbeaten streak going and fell 2-0 to Tenerife in the Canary Islands, spoiling Sandro's debut.

High intensity

Tenerife took the upper hand out of the gate, creating danger from the get go. Barça goalkeeper Ortolá was on his toes, keeping the ball out of the net until his team could settle in with Sandro and Dongou opening things up. But just as they were closing in, Tenerife broke through in the 25th on a tremendous shot by Suso that found the upper corner. Barça kept at it and the outstanding efforts of both keepers held the game at 1-0 at the break.

No time to react

Barça came close to drawing even upon retaking the field but it was their opponent who demonstrated their strength, with two near misses followed by their second goal, coming after a corner kick and a subsequent scramble. Cámara, Gumbau and Joan Román were subbed in to try and turn things around but it was futile. In the final minutes there was even more desperation as Patric was sent off with a straight red card, essentially putting an end to Barça's hopes.
