Sergio and Pedro score for Spain (3-0)

There were four FC Barcelona players in the line-up that beat Belarus in Saturday's Euro 2016 qualifier

Barça players featured prominently in Spain’s 3-0 win over Belarus in Huelva. The club supplied four of the starting eleven and two of the goalscorers, Sergio Busquets and Pedro Rodríguez.

Piqué and Jordi Alba were also named by Del Bosque and Bartra was on the bench in a game in which Spain needed to get their campaign back on track after the disappointing defeat to Slovakia.

Barça goals

The defending European champions enjoyed a series of early chances, and Real Madrid’s Isco eventually opened the scoring with a fine long range strike. Just two minutes later, Sergio Busquets, who was substituted at half time, extended that lead with a finely placed shot from the edge of the area.

It was down to Pedro to settle the result in a fine second half display from the Canary islander. The goal came after 55 minutes and finished off a fine team move, with the final assist being provided by Juanfran. Spain were by far the better side, and Pedro came close to adding another with minutes to go, but his shot hit the bar.

Spain and Ukraine (who beat Luxembourg 3-0) remain tied in second place in the group, three points behind group leaders Slovakia, who maintained their 100 per cent record with a 2-0 win in Macedonia.
