Barça Women 3-0 Valencia CF: The end of a brilliant week

Goals from Duggan, Marta Torrejón and Martens ensure that the Blaugrana take all three points

Barça beat Valencia CF 3-0 at the Miniestadi in the match corresponding to the 25th day of the Iberdrola League. The game was dominated by the hosts at all times, and, along with the victory in the Champions League against LSK Kvinner (3-0), Lluís Cortés' side end a good week.

Valencia began with two lines of four very compact players and Barça Women started taking the initiative in attack. The first chance came from a shot executed by Losada, saved well by Vreugdenhil.

Possession

Thanks to constant possession of the ball the Blaugrana dictated the rhythm of the game, and in the 18th minute, Duggan scored her fourth goal in the last six days.

After half-time and despite Martens' dominance and insistence on the left side, the visitors' defence held firm. However, that persistence would eventually pay off. Martens played in Marta Torrjeón for the second on 84, and with three minutes left to play, Martens got on the score sheet herself. The three points mean that Barça keep maximum pressure on leaders Atlético Madrid.
