Barça Lassa provide triple trouble in Euroleague win

The team beat Herbalife Gran Canaria 93-64 thanks to their outside shooting

Barça Lassa started a busy week, in which they will play three times, by beating Herbalife Gran Canaria in Euroleague action. The team matched their European record for perimeter shooting in the Tuesday night game, firing in 19 shots from outside. The 93-64 victory keeps them in the upper echelons of the standings.

A tight start

Neither side dominated in the first quarter, although Barça Lassa ended the opening period ahead due to five 3-pointers, including a pair apiece from Pangos and Singleton.

After the 22-19 first quarter, a partial of 11-4 kicked off the second stanza with Barça pulling ahead. They extended their lead to 33-23 at one stage, before Gran Canaria came back to reduce the advantage to 3 points. Three triples from Kuric kept them ahead 38-35 at halftime.

A second half reaction

Gran Canaria briefly lef by a point, until Barça rallied back with a 22-5 run that set them on course for the victory. Three-pointers from Singleton, Pangos, Ribas and Kuric took the Blaugrana to a 63-46 lead.

The final quarter continued the same dynamic as the third, with Barça Lassa killing off the game and extending their successful 3-point shooting record to 19 (5 for Pangos, 4 for Kuric, Singleton and Ribas and 2 for Smits). The contest ended 93-64, with a win that keeps the team in fifth place in their Euroleague group.
