In an even-handed contest, Pellegrini's squad could not find a way to win on the road
In English Premier League action on Saturday, ManchesterCity tied 1–1 at Everton in a very even game in which the visitors enjoyed the best chances but could not get the game-winner. After a scoreless first half, the Citizens, who face FCBarcelona on February 24th in the first leg of the last 16 of the UEFAChampionsLeague, got in gear and went ahead thanks to a goal from Fernandinho in the 75th minute. But shortly after, Steven Naismith got the equaliser for Everton.
It was an unfortunate setback on a day that saw the return of Kun Agüero—he had been sitting out with an injury since early December. With Chelsea's 2–0 win over Newcastle, Manchester City have fallen out of a first-place tie with Chelsea and are now two points behind them.
