Vicky Losada signs for Arsenal Ladies

FC Barcelona and Arsenal Ladies have reached a deal for the transfer of Vicky Losada, who will join the London club on March 1 It's the second time the Catalan has moved abroad after a stint at Western New York Flash last season

Arsenal and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement to transfer Vicky Losada to the London club. The Catalan will begin the season at Barça, where she is one of the side’s captains, and move to Arsenal on March 1 to prepare the pre-season with her new team -Arsenal Ladies.

10 years at the Club

The Club made it clear that they had made the deal as easy as possible and wished Vicky all the best in the next stage of her career in recognition of the 10 years of success at Barça. Losada explained: “I am really happy to sign for Arsenal and I am very excited about the new challenge it represents. I will always be grateful for the way FC Barcelona have treated me and I will always see it as my home  - I’d love to come back and finish my career here”.

Losada has so far played 19 games this season and scored 6 goals. She has won 3 leagues and 3 Spanish cups in her time at the Club and figured in 3 Champions League campaigns – two as captain of the side.

Arsenal - "a challenge"

For Losada, the move to Arsenal is a “challenge. I will have to quickly adapt to the more physical game in England. I know I still have a lot to learn and improve. The objective will be to finish high up the table and earn a place in next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League". Losada will join up with Spanish coach Pedro Martínez Losa at The Gunners, as well as fellow Spanish international Natalia Pablos.
