Barça B suffer 4-0 defeat at Zaragoza

Three first half strikes sink Eusebio's youngsters Sandro misses penalty with the scores at 2-0

Eusebio was left with little to celebrate as he marked his 150th game in charge of Barça B with a heavy 4-0 defeat at promotion chasers Zaragoza, which leaves the team down near the bottom with just 26 points.

Two goals in three minutes

Despite fielding the same XI who did so well at Sabadell last week, Barça B were under the cosh from the off in Zaragoza. Just as the team seemed to have withstood the early pressure and following some good stops from keeper Suárez, as the hosts went one up with a goal on the break from Borja Bastón, who then doubled the lead within three minutes with his 15th strike of the season.

Missed penalty

Sandro then missed the chance to cut back the lead when he shot wide from a penalty after Dongou had been brought down by the Zaragoza keeper and Pedro added insult to injury by grabbing the hosts’ third on 39 minutes.

After the break, Barça pushed for a goal, but neither Munir, Sandro or Gumbau were able to put away chances and it was left to Zaragoza to have the last word when Javi Álamo made it four with three minutes left to play.
