Edmílson warns of the danger posed by Villarreal

The Brazilian believes Barça will win the clash between two of his ex-teams in La Liga The former Barça defender says the current group of forwards is the best in team history

José Edmílson has his money on Barça. The now-retired Brazilian defender will be on hand Wednesday night at Camp Nou as two of his ex-teams face off in the first leg of the Spanish Cup semi-finals. "If Barça have a favourable result tonight, they could essentially clinch an appearance in the final," he assured in an appearance on Barça TV in which he announced a renewed agreement between the Edmílson Foundation and the FC Barcelona Foundation.

Barça are playing tremendously at the moment

He gave a warning with respect to Villarreal, where he played in the 2008/09 season. "It's a young team, with players that have good touch with the ball. Barça need to focus on Villarreal's counterattacks. They defend well and get out quickly on the counter. Barça are in top form by they need to know how to stop that."

He also said that the so-called 'trident' formed by Leo Messi, Neymar, and Luís Suárez "is the best trio in team history." Edmílson is especially proud of his countryman, Neymar Jr: “Everyone in Brazil are happy for him. He's playing fabulously, scoring goals and getting on well with Messi and Suárez."
