Levante pointless at Camp Nou

Levante pointless at Camp Nou

The club from Valencia will be trying to avoid defeat for the first time in ten visits

FC Barcelona welcome this Sunday one of the sides who have struggled historically away at the blaugranes. That team is Levante who have never picked up a single point at Camp Nou in nine league visits. Barça have dominated the fixture, scoring 33 goals and conceding just 7.

In those nine meetings between the two side at Camp Nou in the league, there have a variety of winning scorelines for the blaugranes. Five games have ended with the home side winning by four goals or more, the latest being the 7-0 victory for Barça last season on the opening weekend of the campaign.

There have been other times, in contrast, when the results have been much tighter. Barça won by the only goal of the game in the seasons 2006/07 and 2012/13. In 2004/05 and 2010/11 the blaugranes won 2-1 against the club from Valencia, the closest they have come to leaving the Camp Nou with a point.

Levante have done slightly better in their visits in the Spanish Cup. Of their five games in Barcelona in the competition, four have ended with victory for the blaugranes and one in a draw. That 2-2 result came back in 1935 when Barça still played at their old stadium of Les Corts.
