International Symposium on Disability and Football begins

The event, which is organised by FC Barcelona’s Specialised Services Office (OEA), is being attended by representatives from Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Ajax

The International Symposium on Disability and Football organised by FC Barcelona’s Specialised Services Office (OEA) opened this Tuesday with Club Social Area Director Jordi Cardoner and President Josep Maria Bartomeu, as well as the Office’s head Pilar Guinovart all making interventions.

At a round table of the Office’s assessors, the initiatives taken at the Club were outlined, although President Bartomeu insisted that the Club were aware of the need to continue to improve in this aspect, something he was sure that the Nou Espai Barça would help to do. It was then the turn of representatives form the invited European clubs - Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Ajax. to explain their experiences in the area

“We are moving forward slowly, but we are learning. Every year we do work to improve our facilities and with the Espai Barça Projectwhich we are now focussed on, I can assure our disabled members that we will soon have a better and more appropriate space for them”.
