UCAM Murcia 71-70 Barça Lassa: Narrow defeat

The fourth league defeat of the season comes following a grippingly tight game that could have gone either way

Barça Lassa have lost at UCAM Murcia to go 17-4 in regular season play in the Liga Endesa, still enough to stay top of the table but a cruel setback following a agme that saw Ante Tomic lead the blaugrana display.

Yet it had all started to well, with Barça on top of the defensive rebounds and leading by a comfortable 13-18 after the first ten minutes.

Kyle Kuric then plugged seven in a row to put Barça 15-25, but a 9-2 streak from the home side got things tight again and by the interval they had edged into the lead (34-33).

It was after the restart that we started seeing the best of Tomic, but with the defences governing keeping the scoring down, neither side had managed to establish a meaningful lead going in to the final period (50-49).

Still the shooting was erratic from both sides and the defending top notch, and there was just one point between the teams going into an intense final minute that had everything apart from points for either side. And so it ended with the Murcians celebrating the narrowest of 71-70 victories.
