The local born striker sees a good result as key against Kazakh side BIIK-Kazygurt to be able to finish off the tie in the second leg at the Miniestadi
The Barça Women’s team made their debuts this week in the Champions League against BIIK-Kazygurt on Wednesday 7 October at 11.00am CET. Striker Alexia Putellas spoke to Barça TV ahead of the game in Kazakhstan.
For the goalscorer “BIIK-Kazygurt are a very tought and physical team” and she added that the Women’s team will be playing at a “very tough ground.” “People have said that we have been lucky in the draw but that is relative because they are a tough team. We want to get a good result to finish off the tie at the Miniestadi.”
For Putellas, “the objective in the Champions League is to get to the quarter finals” in a season with “lots of players missing who were starters in recent years.” “Now we have played who brings things to the team that we did not have last season.” Nevertheless, for the striker “the team has room to improve.”
