FC Barcelona Lassa will have to come back. After being defeated this Saturday afternoon by a score of 2–0, the home advantage of the Palau Blaugrana will be key if Barça want to win the Continental Cup. Unable to beat Sporting Lisbon in a game marked by the intense humidity inside the Portuguese pavilion, which caused slipping and sliding and resulted in slower than normal play, the Catalans had trouble all afternoon and will have to turn it around on Saturday 17 October at the Palau Blaugrana. The decisive second leg is set for for 4:15pm CET and will determine who wins this edition of the Continental Cup — either the reigning champions of the European League or the current CERS champions.

Sporting got on the board at the ten-minute mark of the second half when Cacau tipped home Figueira's long-range shot. Then, with just three minutes to play, Ábalos sent a well-placed blast into the upper corner to make it 2–0.

Injury to Matias Pascual

Just five minutes into the game, Barça's Matías Pascual had to leave the game after getting hit in the left ankle. He was unable to continue.
