Xavi Llorens says FC Barcelona Women have the advantage playing at home

The Barça women’s team are motivated going into the second leg of their last 32 tie in the Champions League which will be played on Wednesday at 7.00pm CET

The Barça Women’s football team have had a special Tuesday with the open media day ahead of Wednesday’s last 32 second leg UEFA Women’s Champions League tie against BIIK Kazygurt of Kazakhstan. The game kicks off at the Miniestadi at 7.00pm CET and coach Xavi Llorens and the squad could not hide their excitement at the prospect of progressing to the last 16 of Europe’s premier club competition.

Xavi Llorens

“We have the advantage because we are playing at home in the Miniestadi. We know our opponents and we are the better side, we can do damage coming forward but we can’t be over confident because there could be a surprise like last season. We have to give 300%, and if we can pull off a good win then that’s better for us and for the growth of the women’s team.”

Míriam Diéguez

“It will be a tight game because they have a physical side and in the Champions League every game is competitive. Playing at home in the Mini on a big pitch is good for us.”
“We encourage people to come because it will be a good game and we hope to get people hooked.”

Olga García

“The team is feeling good. We are excited about tomorrow’s game and it is important that we win.”

Marta Unzué

“They have to score at the end of the day at least once. We know it is 90 minutes, we have to keep a cool head and score.”
