Gimnàstic Tarragona 1-5 FC Barcelona (U19): Second consecutive win

Cucurella, Theo, Marc Rio, Carles Pérez and Álex Blanco on target in an impressive display on the road

The FC Barcelona U19 side were outstanding on Saturday as they put five goals past Gimnàstic Tarragona. They created chance after chance against one of the strongest sides in their division, taking an early lead through Cucurella from a corner after just five minutes and looking fully in control from that moment on.

Theo made it two with a long range strike and then Marc Rio extended their lead just before the break following a fine set piece, leaving coach Gabri García delighted with his team’s performance over the first 45 minutes

The home side pulled a goal back after the restart, but it only took seven minutes for Carles Pérez to re-establish the three-goal cushion with a fine bit of skill on the edge of the area. Right at the end, Álex Blanco also got his name on the score-sheet to leave things at 5-1 to the visitors. The win leaves the U19 team with 19 points after the first nine games in the Division of Honour.
