FC Barcelona are through to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey for the sixth time in a row, and today Friday at 12.20pm CER, they’ll learn who stands between them and their third final in three seasons. These are the other three teams in today’s draw:
It’s been a fifteen year wait for the Galicians to reach another Copa semi, and they did so after beating high-flying Atlético following a dramatic second leg tie at the Calderón that ended 3-2. Pablo Hernández scored a brace and Guidetti got an absolute beauty as Diego Siumeone’s side was added to a list of scalps that also includes Almeria and Cadiz.
Managed by Unai Emery, the Andalusians ended another brilliant cup run from little Mirandés, who reached the semis four years ago. They won the tie 5-0 on aggregate and were simply too good in the second leg. After beating local rivals Betis 6-0 in the previous round, it’s been quite a cup run for Sevilla so far.
Former Man United great Gary Neville marches on in the cup after his new side got past UD Las Palmas in the quarters. After drawing 1-1 at home they won 1-0 in the Canaries, having ousted Barakaldo and Granada in the previous games.
