Sergi Roberto makes senior Spain debut in goalless draw

The midfielder starts for La Roja in a 0-0 against Romania alongside club teammates Jordi Alba, Gerard Piqué and Marc Bartra

Sergi Roberto made his senior international debut for Spain in a 0-0 draw against Romania in Cluj on Sunday.

Alonside club teammates Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba and Marc Bartra in the starting lineup, Sergi Roberto played 60 minute before being replaced by former FC Barcelona man Cesc Fabregas.

Piqué, who also played against Italy in a 1-1 draw on Thursday, was taken off after 52 minutes. The centre-back had a solid game, as did Bartra who made a series of blocks and challenges to keep Romania at bay.
