FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu, vice-president of International and Institutional Relations Carles Vilarrubí and Jordi Moix, Commissioner of Espai Barça, were received by President of the Generalitat Carlos Puigdemont.
The meeting, which took place behind closed doors, had been pending ever since Puigdemont’s election as president of the Catalan government in January.
"We are very pleased to have had this meeting. Among the various topics discussed, we found the President of the Government to be very keen in regard respect to the Espai Barça project, because this is a top-level project both for sport and for the city. President Bartomeu has also discussed this issue with the mayor and maintains very close contact with the government through commissioner Jordi Moix.
"We also spoke about the various agreements that Barça and the Generalitat maintain, especially the collaboration with the Ramon Llull Institute for the promotion and dissemination of the Catalan culture.
"Looking ahead to the match against Real Madrid on Saturday, President Carlos Puigdemont has confirmed his presence in the boxes of the Camp Nou."
