Leo Messi and Arda Turan have started pre-season training with the rest of the group. The inclusion of the Argentine forward and the Turkish midfielder are the two new additions to the first session at St. George’s Park.
The players trained in a far more modest climate than that of Barcelona, with rain gracing the first training session at the training camp.
The team trained from 6.30pm local time, after arriving in the UK at midday. As well as Messi and Arda, the training was joined by 22 other players: Masip, Suárez, Munir, Sergi Roberto, Aleix Vidal, Mathieu, Denis, Montoya, Tello, Samper, José Suárez, Marlon, Martínez, Borja López, Carbonell, Gumbau, Aleñá, Nili, Alfaro, Cámara, Mujica and Josep Martínez. The final name on that list is the U19 goalkeeper, who underwent his first training session with the first team.
Tuesday will see a double session take place, first at 10.00am and 6.30pm (British time).
