Fun for all the family at Camp Nou on Gamper Trophy day

Wednesday 10 August brings a host of activities all day at FC Barcelona in the build-up to the official presentation of the first team squad 2016/17

Like every year, the Joan Gamper Trophy will mark the start of the new season at the Camp Nou. Sampdoria are the opposition for the 2016 edition, and before the game the new squad will be officially unveiled to the fans. But that will just be the icing on the cake of a day packed with activities on the FC Barcelona premises.

The fun will be especially focused on younger supporters. Children will be able to enjoy a 100% Barça day in the different stands set up around the ground, many of which are designed to help deal with the suffocating August heat in Catalonia. Water football, slides and a refreshment zone will be the main areas for getting wet.

Other activities include being photographed with the double trophies, a stand for playing Pro Evolution Soccer 2016, photocalls and the chance to have your face painted in the club colours.

Wembley reminder

This year also delivers a very special attraction. Fans can get a balloon to honour the 25th anniversary of the first European Cup at Wembley, won against Sampdoria in 1992. The idea is to generate a commemorative image inside and outside of the stadium using 3,000 orange balloons.

There will also be moving attractions, including percussion group BATinKAT, the Funky Road band that plays on stilts and a performance by Hotel Cochambre on the Damm stage to bring a musical touch to the day.

Timetable

The Joan Gamper Trophy activities get under way at 11.00am and will continue through to 7.00pm. The music shows will take place from 12.00pm to 6.00pm. Please note, however, that from 4.00pm onwards, only visitors with match tickets will be permitted on the club premises.
