Gold for Noddesbo and Andersson, bronze for Navarro and Claver

Denmark beat France (featuring Sorhaindo and N’Guessan) in the Olympic handball final, while Spain beat the Aussies to take third in the basketball

Denmark have won the men’s Olympic handball competition for the first time ever, and that means that Barça Lassa’s Jesper Noddesbo and Lasse Anderson will be coming back from Rio de Janeiro with medals in their luggage (although the latter did not feature in the 28-26 defeat of France in the final).

That means silver medals for the defending Olympic champions, with Barça’s Sorhaindo and N’Guessan in their ranks, while Germany clinched bronze with a win against Poland.
