The day Alcácer conquered Camp Nou

FC Barcelona's newest signing, Paco Alcácer, knows what it is like to score at Camp Nou.

And not just any old goal. Alcácer has experience scoring game-winners at Barça's hallowed grounds, which the Valencia-born striker will now call home.

It was back on 1 February 2014, when Valencia were visiting Camp Nou in Week 22 of La Liga. Valencia beat Barça, 3–2, that afternoon and, interestingly enough, Valencia's third and final goal was the work of Alcácer.

The clock was winding up through the 59th minute of the game, when Sofiane Feghouli, making a nice play along the right side-line, sent a precision pass to Alcácer, who took full advantage. Alcácer was just outside the six-yard box when he one-timed past Víctor Valdés for the eventual game-winner, thus giving the three points to a Valencia side then coached by Juan Antonio Pizzi.

Now, two and a half years later, Paco Alcácer is playing for Barça. And there's one course he had already aced before his arrival — clutch goal scoring at Camp Nou.

Throughout his career, Alcácer has scored a total of 33 league goals (30 for Valencia and 3 for Getafe), 7 in the Copa del Rey (6 for Valencia and 1 for Getafe), and 7 in the Europe League (all for Valencia).

Moreover, he has scored six goals for the Spanish national team, giving him a total of 53 for club and country.

And with Alcácer having just turned 23, the numbers are all the more impressive.
