The week that awaits FC Barcelona

The first team's calendar from February 18 to 24

FC Barcelona still have a full week of football in February. After Ernesto Valverde's renewal, the next few days will be marked by the return of the Champions League against Lyon (Tuesday 19, 9.00pm CET), and the always difficult League game at Sevilla (Saturday 23, 4.15pm CET). We'll review the schedule of events for the week below:

Monday 18 - The day before the Champions League Round of 16

FC Barcelona travel to Lyon. In the afternoon, at OL Stadium, they will undertake their last training session before the game against the French side. Barça have visited the stadium on three other occasions: 1-1 (Champions League Round of 16 2008/09, with Henry's goal); 2-2 (group stage of the 2007/08 Champions League, with goals from Iniesta and Messi) and 2-3 (Champions League 2001/02, with goals by Kluivert, Rivaldo and Gerard López). These are the five best goals against Lyon:

Tuesday 19 - Champions League Round of 16 first leg vs. Lyon

Match day. Lyon - FC Barcelona (9.00pm CET). Seventy days after the last Champions League match, which saw a goal from Dembélé and Jasper Cillessen's six magnificent saves, Barça play once again in the European competition.

It must be remembered that Barça completed a wonderful group stage, scoring 14 goals overall and at least once in every game. It goes without saying that Rakitic's goal against Tottenham was the best.

Wednesday 20 - A day to rest

Make sure to look at the official Barça website and the various social networks of the club for all of the Champions League post-match content!

Thursday 21 - Getting ready for Sevilla

Matchday 25 in the League will see the fifth duel of this season between Barça and Sevilla: 1-2 (Super Cup final); 4-2 (Matchday 9); 2-0 (Copa del Rey quarter-final first leg) and 6-1 (Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg).

Friday 22 - A Messi anniversary

The day before visiting the Sánchez Pizjuán, it will be the 13th anniversary of Messi's exhibition at Stamford Bridge in a Champions League match.

Saturday 23 - A date with destiny at the Sánchez-Pizjuán

Matchday 25 in the League: Sevilla-Barça (4.15pm CET).

Sunday 24 - Getting ready for a 'double clásico'

On Sunday, the team will start to prepare for the two clásicos in the Santiago Bernabéu: the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg (Wednesday 27, 9.00pm CET) and in the League (Saturday 2 March, 8.45pm CET).

Messi also has these two dates locked into his calendar, because he always enjoys visiting the home of Real Madrid.

Additionally, the second round of the Best Goal Ever finishes. Therefore, we are closer to finding the best goal in the history of Barça! Keep participating in the game!
