Xavi Pascual’s side come back from four goals down to kick off Velux EHF Champions League campaign in style

FC Barcelona Lassa handball kicked off their Champions League campaign in style after digging in deep to defeat Orlen Wisla Plock away from home (23-28).

Barça got off to a bad start as a plucky Wisla Plock side looked that yard sharper in their speed and transitions. Also, in large part due to their keeper Corrales, who made a flurry of stops, the home side increased their lead to four five minutes before the break, before eventually finishing it 12-11.

That all changed in the second half, however, as a stronger, defensively sturdier, and more efficient Barça side emerged.

With goals from Víctor Tomás, Entrerríos, Jallouz and Valero Rivera, the visitors were four goals up on midway through the second half (15-19). Former Wisla man Syprzak widened the margin to five on 47 minutes before Tomás maintained the same margin (20-25) going into the last five minutes.

In the end, Barça closed the game 23-28 to kick off their European campaign in ideal fashion.
