FC Barcelona Lassa - BM Benidorm: Devastating pace at the Palau (34-19)

Xavi Pascual’s team remain top of the domestic competition with their fifth win in five Asobal League games

About to receive Nantes at the Palau in the Champions League, FC Barcelona Lassa haven’t lost sight of the importance of the Asobal League and proved their superiority once again on Wednesday. With five wins from five games, Xavi Pascual’s team are the ones to beat domestically, and their latest visitors, Benidorm, never stood a chance against a side whose biggest strengths are fast transitions, speed and goals on the counter attack (14 in total).

They were all key factors in why the score was 18-8 to the hosts at the break and 34-19 at the final whistle. Raúl Entrerríos exceeded the 1,350 goal mark in the Asobal League with the opener for Barça in the 6th minute. With Dika Mem also on fire, and despite conceding at crucial moments, Barça went into half-time with a 10-point lead.

Their forcefulness in attack continued in the second half, with three goals from Rivera, one from N'Guessan and another from Alexis (23-8, min 34). Although Benidorm’s defence then managed to keep Barça at bay for eight minutes, the blaugrana just kept coming and the margin of victory by the end of the game certainly didn’t flatter them.
